Become a proficient K9 handler at one of the most reputable K9 training facilities in the United States.
In this thorough 2-week class, you will receive hands-on training and learn comprehensive K9 handling techniques.
Our classes are lead by professional instructors, and are both great fun and challenging for the enthusiastic men and women—and K9s—who attend.
You will learn how to:
- develop basic problem-solving skills
- adhere to your maintenance training
- keep accurate records
- maintain the health of your K9: K9 First Aid, diet, exercise, stress handling, etc.
- review the odors on which K9s are trained
- read the drive of a K9
- manipulate your K9 in and out of prey and fight
- understand the role of body language and footwork in K-9 handling situations
The K9 class also covers:
- search patterns
- off-site situations - warehouses and vehicles
- case law
- court presentation
The maximum class size is 8 students.
Please note: This is not an advanced class.
Hours: 9am to 5pm Monday - Friday for 10 days
Venue: Southern Coast K9 K9 Training Facility
690 Meta Lane, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 (Just 10 miles south of Daytona Beach)
Equipment:
Students must provide a K9 and all K9 equipment required for the class.
Cost and Payment:
The cost for the 2 week course is included in the price of the dog purchased.
If a dog is not purchased, the price for the class is $2,500.00 - Due upon registration.
