We like to get to know you all, find out everyone’s expectations and needs for a dog of this caliber. That way we can best choose a dog that will make the right fit – and don’t worry, we always have at least 50 to choose from!

At Southern Coast K9, we import our dogs from Europe where K9s have been successfully bred for decades. Handling a personal protection dog – we train you, too!
Once the right dog is found, we train you to properly handle your new member of the family … and the good news is, you don’t need any previous experience.
Option 1: You train at our Florida facility
Out-of-state families can turn dog training into a mini-vacation. Our close proximity to many popular Florida attractions makes it hard to resist tagging on a little vacation time—have some fun at Walt Disney World in Orlando, or Kennedy Space Center.
And our New Smyrna Beach location is convenient for many Florida neighborhoods too—we are now signing up families in Windermere, Bushnell, Longwood, Lake Mary, and Daytona Beach.
Option 2: We come to you—anywhere in the USA.
We’ll select a great protection dog—we always have at least 50 to choose from—based on your individual preferences; deliver your dog in person; and arrange for one of our professional K9 trainers to train you…at your property…on your schedule.
You’ll be trained by the same people who train Florida’s top police K9 handlers—so you know you’re getting the best.
Proper handling by you will ensure you get the best out of this most rewarding relationship. Although there are specific exceptions to the rule, your family’s personal protection dog will not react or show any aggression unless commanded to do so by you. A well-trained dog will go into action at your command..
Needless to say it’s vital your personal protection dog is well-schooled and obedient. As much as you want protection, you don’t want friendly people around you feeling threatened, or worse, being hurt by an ill-trained dog.
Your dog must be obedient on and off lead – out on a walk, for example, you must feel comfortable knowing your dog will only go into protective mode if anyone becomes aggressive towards you, and then keep the aggressors at bay in a six-foot circle of protection around your family.

Families and individuals from all states are welcome at our dog training classes. However, we understand that coming to our Florida facility is not practical for everyone, so if you can’t come to us— we’ll come to you. And we’ll fit in with your family’s schedule.

We've had Filo for a little over a month now and I wanted to give you an update on how we are all doing. Filo has become a member of our family now and we can't imagine life without him. My only regret is that it took us so long to get a personal protection dog like Filo. As you know, we live in a remote area and my wife stays home alone most of the day. She no longer has any worries about anyone being on our property or around our home. If she has any question about her safety she simply sends Filo on a search and she feels secure knowing he is alert to any threat.
